With Friends Like These Who Needs Enemies?

I am not the sort of person who blogs about a fight but due to recent events I just had to. Ive noticed how stupid and moronic people can be. many just love to put others down including their friends. At first I believed high school drama was over-exaggerated in movies but now Ive come to realize it is exactly like in the movies. Usually its always over a guy or being prom queen or just simply being on top. so IL stop improvising and get to the story.
Me and my friends just finished high school and were inseparable. Many applied to the same universities and got acceptances. The others wanted a bit of adventure and wanted to study in different countries. After everything was decided a few friends had to pack and move away. So for their last night in town we decided to have a conference call and wish them good luck together. The friend who came up with the plan didn't want all the friends to be included and the others thought that to be unfair. So the idea of a second conference emerged. We talked had a good laugh and then at the time of the second conference my friends expressed her true feelings for me. She was jealous that her pathetic idea had been stolen and that she was the one who deserved to make the call. My question was if shed hated the idea of the second conference she should have just said so? Wasn't this the stupidest of things to fight over?

To Dream or not to dream?

For a while I had been feeling as if my whole world had come crashing down. My once almost perfect life felt not so perfect. As a child I had build up this huge obsession that one day I would go out of the country to one of the best universities in the world something no girl in my family could even dream about. At such a young age I never realized how hard that can be. Being the eldest I had no one to guide me and push me to work hard but I managed to get pretty decent grades but grades that weren’t so competitive when it came to applying for scholarships. I have a twin sister. Some people would say I am lucky and I am because I have my best friend with me all the time but due to the fact that we are both going to university my parents are finding it difficult to pay. Now I have no option left but to stay in my country. Here there are just two good universities and a fixed number of seats for students. Where will the rest of the students go? Doesn’t everyone have the right to a good education but with fees so high many ambitious students are unable to fulfill their dreams and end up doing jobs that aren’t meant for them. People complain that people are uneducated and new schools have to be built and education should be free. My question is that what is the use of building so many schools when the teachers are unqualified and care little about the students and their futures? All they care about is the pay they get. The government pays these teachers every month and this is the only time they actually come to school. Thus its fare to say that free schools are nothing more than ghost schools. Thus building more schools is not the solution but improving the quality of education is. To make quality education affordable for all is what has to be done. Schools will not be making any less profits then they are now instead more and more students will actually have the chance to a better education and one day fulfill their lifelong dreams.
As for me I will not stop dreaming. I will do whatever it takes to be on top and I think everyone who feels the way I do should do the same. God dreams a bigger dream then we can for ourselves. So work hard and never stop trying and when you do achieve your dreams don’t forget to thank God after all without him none of it would have been possible.

Has music finally lost its charm?

Yesterday while cleaning out my old CD stack I ended up listening to a few and realized that music has changed a lot over the years. The 80s and 90s for me was a time when good music was made. Now in the 21st century we find people like snoop dog and Pitt bull listed in the top charts. What happened to songs being meaning full?
I wouldn't blame the singers completely either as I feel it’s the people as well whose tastes have changed and bands like back street boys have become a fad of the past. There are still a few bands present which do make songs worth listening but that's still a few.
There was a time when vocalists had to have a great voice to sing but now it feels like everyone's a singer. They don't need the talent but money. Where’s the competition, the hard work and passion?
I recall a quote I once read "All good music resembles something. Good music stirs by its mysterious resemblance to the objects and feelings which motivated It." what’s the motivation today? Songs are sung without feeling and there's no emotion to them.
